Description

Later 19th century. Tall barn and engine house to

W range. Roughly squared and snecked rubble, droved

ashlar dressings. Slate roofs.

N-S BARN: gabled N and S with loft opening to N, apex

stack to bothy at S gable. Engine house adjoined

off-centre to left at W. Wide opening right of centre with

hayloft door with piended dormerhead. Modern brick

buildings to S. N-S barn made L-plan by addition of

wing at N to E side, with ventilation slits to N elevation.

ENGINE HOUSE: rectangular plan, taller centre section

with machinery entrance, roof swept over N projection.

Linked to barn by recessed linking bay. Large slates.

Tall pedestal to SW angle with circular section squat brick

stalk above, terminating in raised ring and coved support

to coping ring above.
