Fidra Cottage, Main Road, Dirleton

Rockery Cottage, located on Main Road in Dirleton, is a row of three single-storey cottages built in the earlier to mid 19th century. The front and sides are constructed from squared and snecked rubble, featuring droved raised ashlar margins.

The southeast elevation presents a five-bay, U-plan design with gabled ends. The central door is flanked by single windows, while the end bays are gabled and slightly advanced. The gables are adorned with gablet skews and consoled skewputts, which include blind slits in the gableheads and finials.

The northeast elevation also follows the U-plan and includes an additional outbuilding. The east and west elevations feature three-bay cottages with a central door. The west elevation has a modern flat-roofed porch addition. The sash and case windows exhibit a 12-pane glazing pattern, and the doorways are topped with strip fanlights. The roof is slated and features diamond stacks along the ridge.
