Description
The Empire Saleroom, located at 44 High Street in Dunbar, is a building dating from the late 18th to early 19th century, with some later alterations. It is a two-storey, four-bay house featuring rendered walls, painted ashlar quoins, and window surrounds. The building has plate glass sash windows.
An earlier 19th century porch is situated at the second left bay, supported by square piers that also function as gate piers. This porch includes an entablature and a blocking course. The roof is slate, with harled gable head stacks, and there is a modern dormer addition at the rear.
The property is topped with a low parapet wall that is adorned with decorative iron railing and a gate.
