Description
55 High Street in Dunbar is an 18th-century tenement building that features six bays and three storeys. The ground floor has modern shops, with a central pend leading to Number 57. The exterior is rendered and painted to resemble ashlar, with contrasting painted margins. There is a raised lintel course above the first floor. The windows on the second floor of Number 55 have been enlarged, which has raised the eaves. The building has slate roofs, with a wallhead gable stack located above the third bay. The three north bays have 12-pane glazing, while the smaller openings under the eaves have four-pane glazing in the south three bays. The rear of Number 59 is also rendered and features a fine rounded stairwell with a swept slated roof.
