Description
61 High Street in Dunbar is a mid-18th century, three-storey, symmetrical four-bay tenement building that features a shop at the ground level, which is modern and located to the right. The exterior is finished with coursed bull-nosed rendering and has plain stone margins, with raised cills supported by corbels on the second floor. A central wallhead stack is present, and there is a rusticated and painted, pedimented Gibbsian doorpiece leading to the pend. The building has plate glass sash windows. At the rear, it is rendered and includes a projecting stairwell to number 61, which has a rounded left angle. Inside, there is a winding stone stair with a cast-iron balustrade and a timber rail.
