Description

The Gate Public House, located at 164 New Dover Road, is a building dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is three storeys tall and constructed of painted brick, topped with a slate roof that features a parapet with stone coping. The façade includes two sashes with intact glazing bars and one blank window. There is a modern porch on the left side and an original early 19th-century double bow window. On the right side, there is a two-storey section with one casement window. The entrance features an early 19th-century doorcase with a vestigial hood, console brackets, and pilasters.
