Description
The Cock Hotel, located at 232 and 234 High Street, is an early 19th-century facade dating from around 1800, attached to a timber-framed building that likely dates back to the 16th century. The structure has two storeys and features twelve windows. It is constructed of stock brick and includes a parapet and flat arches. The windows are sashes set in reveals. There is a wide doorway that has a hood and an oval fanlight above it. The roof is slate. To the right, there is an elliptical carriage arch, and a shop window that fits the overall design. Additionally, there is a right central 19th-century doorway with marginal lights and a surround adorned with Corinthian pilasters.
