56, 58 High Street, Dunbar

56 and 58 High Street in Dunbar is a three-storey, four-bay tenement building dated 1743, featuring shops on the ground floor. The exterior is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar stone. The central entrance has a segmentally arched shape and is fitted with an iron gate. The building has a regular arrangement of windows, each with a 12-pane glazing pattern. Above the central bays, there is a wallhead gable that includes bulls-eye windows and an apex stack. The roof has plain skews and curved skewputts, and it is covered with slate.

At the rear, there is a stone turnpike stair that projects slightly at the center, accompanied by stepped narrow small-pane lights. A date stone is located on the doorway to the left. The roof is swept into the main eaves, and there is a swept dormer above the right side. Additionally, there are single-storey outbuildings with pantiled roofs adjoining both the north and south sides of the main building.
