Description

26 Bridge Street in Musselburgh is a two-storey terrace house dating from around 1830. Originally, it was a symmetrical design with three windows across the front. The house features flyover steps leading to a central door, which is later complemented by a balustrade surrounding the area with panelled angle piers. The building is constructed of stugged ashlar with a rusticated ground floor. There are remnants of a cill string course on the first floor, along with a cornice and a blocking course. A three-light mid-Victorian canted bay window has replaced the window to the left of the door. The cills on the first floor have been lowered to align with a band course, and a trellis pattern iron balcony has been added across the entire frontage, including the roof of the bay window. The windows have been reglazed with double-pane sashes.
