Description

41-43 South Tay Street in Dundee is a terraced house built around 1820, featuring three storeys and a basement. The front is made of cherry-cocked coursed sandstone rubble, while the rear is harled, topped with a slate roof. The building has a base course and architraved windows, with the upper floor featuring cut-back and rendered tripartite windows. The ground and first floors have bracketed cills, and the windows include 4-pane timber sash and case glazing, with a 12-pane window at the centre of the second floor and 2-pane sidelights. There is a mutual rendered axial stack and prominent modern roof ventilators.

On the front elevation, there is a panelled door located in the second bay from the left, which has a blocked fanlight, cavetto reveals, and a pilastered doorpiece with a bracketed cornice and triglyph frieze. To the left of the door is one window, and to the right are three windows, with two tripartite windows on both the first and second floors.

The rear elevation has modern ground floor projections and dormers. The interior has not been seen.
