37-39 South Tay Street, Dundee

37-39 South Tay Street in Dundee is a terraced house built around 1820. It has three stories and a basement, featuring four bays with classical detailing. The front is made of cherry-cocked coursed sandstone rubble, with painted timber and ashlar dressings, while the rear is constructed from random rubble. The roof is slate. Architectural details include a basement lintel band, a cill band on the first and second floors, and an eaves course. The windows are architraved, with those on the second floor cut back, and feature moulded cills on the ground floor and corbelled cills on the first and second floors. The glazing consists of 12-pane timber sash and case windows, and there are mutual rendered axial stacks.

On the front elevation, there is a door with a blocked fanlight and a consoled doorpiece at the center, flanked by two blocked basement windowheads and two windows on either side, along with four windows on the first and second floors. The rear elevation features a prominent square-section piend-roofed stair tower, margined windows, and three dormers. The interior has not been seen.
