Description

18 Bridge Street in Musselburgh is a pair of mirrored houses built around 1830. These two-storey homes are located at the end of a terrace and each features two windows. They have a slate roof and are constructed from droved ashlar stone, with a rusticated ground floor. The design includes band courses at both the ground and first floor levels, as well as small cornices topped with a blocking course.

The ground floor openings were originally all set within semi-circular arches that spring from an impost course, although the left-hand window has been enlarged below the impost level and the arch has been removed. On the right side, there is a square-headed single pane sash window set in a shallow arched recess. The first floor windows are framed with architraves and feature six-pane sashes. There are railed steps leading up to the doorways.
