Description

  1. Single storey and attic, 2-bay mirrored pair of houses. Polished ashlar; rubble to sides. Base course; contrasting buckle quoins; long and short cream surrounds to openings; eaves course; cornice. Upper windows break eaves to form stepped gables (segmentally shaped at centre); ball and thistle finials at apex.

NW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: steps to central square-headed label-moulded entrances; timber doors; letterbox fanlights; continuous labelmould with decorative labelstops; round-arched bipartite window aligned above, corbelled square brackets. Bipartite windows at ground floor to flanking bays; single windows at attic (labelmoulds with decorative labelstops).

NE (SIDE) ELEVATION: 2 single windows at ground and attic floors

Plate glass and 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; stepped stone skews; corniced gablehead stacks; polygonal cans.

INTERIORS: not seen 1998.

BOUNDARY WALL AND GATEPIERS: coped boundary wall enclosing site; square-plan (vehicular) gatepiers (tapered at apex) and 2-leaf iron gate to left, square-plan (pedestrian) gatepiers and single gate to right. Timber gate to right leading to rear of property.
