47 Bridge Street in Musselburgh is a three-storey end terrace house, dating from around 1840, with the top storey added slightly later. The building features a rusticated ground floor that extends up to a band course, with a polished ashlar band beneath the first-floor cill string course. Above this, there is droved ashlar, a main cornice, a string course, a secondary cornice, and a blocking course. The windows on the first and second floors are architraved. The entrance door is flanked by a window on each side and is protected by a timber and glass vestibule screen, which includes four slender pilasters, a cornice, and sidelights leading to the glazed door. The ground floor windows are single-pane, while the upper floors have been reglazed with single-pane sashes. The return gable elevation is made of coursed rubble, and the chimney head has been removed.
