88 North High Street in Musselburgh is a late 18th century building that is low, with two storeys and attics, featuring shops on the ground floor. The street-facing elevation is roughcast with raised margins around the windows, which are 6-pane sashes. It has a well-preserved Victorian shop front supported by three piers, which hold up the fascia and cornice. The end elevation has a painted ground floor that includes one domestic-sized window and a shop fascia, while the upper part is roughcast with two first-floor windows—one of which is blind—and one attic window on the side of the gable. There is a brick stack at the apex of the roof. The rear elevation is partially obscured by an adjoining building. There are remains of a stair leading up to the upper entrance. The roof is ridged and slated at the front, with pantiles and two slated piended dormers at the back.
