Description

Circa 1880. Astylar terrace stepped down slope; 3 storeys

over basement. Polished ashlar, v-channelled at ground,

partly stonecleaned or painted. 2-bay elevations per house;

to right; full height canted bay windows. to left, steps

oversailing basement to wide pilastered and corniced doorway

with double-leaf doors. Single-light architraved windows

above door with consoled cornice; architraved window to 2nd

floor. Sash windows; plate glass glazing. Continuous

band-course over ground and at 2nd floor cills. Plain main

cornice. Axial stacks, slate roofs. At No 9, more elaborate

detail to bay windows; incised pilaster capitals and

pediment. Droved ashlar flank.
