Description
77 Main Street is a cottage from the later 18th century that has undergone some alterations and has an addition at the rear. It is a single storey and attic structure with three bays and features later canted, piend-roofed dormers in the attic. The exterior is made of painted, coursed sandstone rubble with painted ashlar margins and has raised margins around the windows and door. The front door is a half-glazed timber-panelled design from the late 20th century, flanked by bipartite windows. The attic contains two dormers with slate-hung sides. The glazing has been replaced in the 20th century, and the building has brick stacks topped with yellow clay cans. The roof is covered with graded grey slate.
