Description
80 Main Street is a later 18th century double cottage that has undergone alterations and features a 20th century addition at the rear. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of three bays. It has late 19th century canted, gabled dormers in the attic and ridge stacks. The exterior is finished with painted roughcast render and has painted ashlar margins, along with raised margins around the windows and doors.
The entrance to No 78 features a late Victorian half-glazed timber panelled door with decorative frosted glass, while No 80 has a late 20th century half-glazed timber-panelled front door. The central architraves are stop-chamfered. Each bay has bipartite windows, and there are two dormers in the attic.
The windows are made of plate glass in timber sash and case style, with 4-pane glazing in the dormers. The rendered stacks have assorted clay cans, and the roof is covered with graded grey slate. The building also features cast-iron rainwater goods.
