Description
Oran is a cottage dating from the later 18th century, with some alterations and 20th century additions at the rear. It is a single storey and attic structure featuring three bays, with 19th century canted, gabled dormers in the attic. The exterior is finished in painted roughcast render, accented with painted ashlar margins, and includes a base course, eaves course, and raised margins around the windows and doors. The front door is timber-panelled and is flanked by bipartite windows. The attic has two dormers with slate-hung sides.
The windows are timber sash and case with 4-pane glazing. The building has an ashlar-coped skew and a rendered gablehead stack with thack-stanes, topped with graded grey slate. It also features cast-iron rainwater goods with a hopper.
Inside, the sitting room boasts a polished black marble chimneypiece, and there are timber panelled interior doors throughout.
