Description

79 Main Street is a cottage from the later 18th century, featuring some alterations and a 20th century addition at the rear. It is a single storey and attic structure with two bays and a later piend-roofed dormer in the attic. The exterior is made of coursed sandstone rubble, accented with painted ashlar margins, a base course, and raised margins around the windows and door. The front door is half-glazed and timber-panelled, with a later bipartite window to the left. The attic has one dormer with sidelights and slate-hung sides. The cottage includes timber sash and case windows with 4-pane glazing, ridge stacks with thack-stanes, and is topped with graded grey slate.
