Caretaker's House, St Mary's R.C Church, 24 Powrie Place, Dundee

The Caretaker's House at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Powrie Place in Dundee is a 2-storey Jacobean cottage, built in 1854, possibly designed by George Mathewson before his death in 1853. The building features coursed rubble construction and has a central chamfered doorway. Above the doorway is a corbel course that supports a dated stepped parapet topped with a cross finial.

Each side of the house has slightly advanced, steeply pitched bell-cast gables. The ground floor includes hood moulded bipartite windows, while the first floor has smaller depressed arched windows with lozenge shapes above them. The gables are skewed and corbelled out at the eaves level. The roof is covered in slate, and there are gable end stacks. The original sash and case windows consist of 32 panes on the ground floor and 12 panes on the first floor.
