65 Magdalen Yard Road And Gatepiers, Dundee

65 Magdalen Yard Road is a villa built around 1817 by David Neave. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure made of stugged ashlar with ashlar dressings. The central bay is advanced and features a pediment, with a ground floor doorpiece that has an Ionic columned round arch and a later cast-iron balustrade above it. The ground floor windows were altered around 1860, with a canted bay to the right and an advanced triple window to the left, both framed by pilasters and cornices. The original windows on the first floor remain in their margins. The villa has a main cornice and a blocking course, topped by a piended platformed slate roof with two central ridge stacks. It features sash and case plate glass windows. To the east, there is a conservatory on a stone plinth with ridge cresting. The property is also marked by square sectioned cast-iron gatepiers, made by Hill and Smith Ltd of Brierley Hill around 1850, which include wrought-iron lamps. Curved coursed rubble garden walls surround the property.
