Description
14 Dudhope Terrace is a villa built around 1860, featuring two stories and three bays. The front is constructed of ashlar stone, while the sides and rear are built from rubble.
On the south elevation, the villa has pilastered angles and includes sill and lintel courses on each floor. The ground floor features a central triple round-arched window with keystones and incised spandrels, with two lights above that have recessed margins. To the right, there is an advanced bay with canted windows on both floors. The ground floor has a canted bay on the left, complete with a cornice and parapet, while the first-floor canted bay was later added in concrete. The main cornice and blocking course have a further course and scrolled ends.
The east gable has a set-back balustraded porch with an arched doorpiece. The west gable includes a long section and a service wing. The roofs are covered with piended slate, and there are corniced wallhead stacks. The windows are sash and case with a two-pane glazing pattern.
Additionally, there is a stable block located at the angle of Inverlaw Place and Douglas Terrace. This structure is a one-story building with a loft, built from rubble, featuring piended dormer bay doors facing north and west, and a three-bay south elevation. There is a gabled door on the east side, and the roofs are also swept and piended with slate. The boundary wall is low ashlar at the front and high rubble-built at the rear.
