Description

10 Panmure Street in Dundee is a mid-19th century, four-storey and attic tenement and commercial building. It features a cream sandstone ashlar exterior, which is painted at the ground floor, with some ashlar dressings refaced using cementitious mortar. The building has a slate roof and includes a base course, a corniced ground floor, a cill band on the first and second floors, an eaves course, and a corniced blocking course. The windows are round-headed with moulded heads and imposts at the pilastraded and entablatured ground floor, while the first floor has corniced and margined windows, with the second and third floors also having margined windows. The first floor center features a round-headed bipartite window in a round-headed panel, with bipartite windows above on the second and third floors. Most windows are four-pane timber sash and case, although some have been altered to two-pane, with original two-pane windows in the three center bays. The building has canted dormers and corniced ridge stacks.

The front elevation includes a modern door at the center, which is topped by a moulded round-headed fanlight and sidelights, set back behind a distyle in antis portico with Corinthian capitals and a monogrammed tympanum. The upper floors are arranged with bipartite windows flanked by single windows, and there are four bays to the left and right, each with a door on the left bay and four windows on each upper floor, along with four dormers. The interior has not been seen.
