Description

Mid 19th century. 4-storey, 4-bay, classically-detailed commercial building on corner site with public house at ground floor. Cream ashlar sandstone to front with painted ground floor and dressings, rubble to side and rear, concealed roof. Pilastered and corniced ground floor, lintel course to 1st floor with projecting corbelled lintels and panelled parapets adjoining cill course to 2nd floor, cill course to 3rd floor with projecting corbelled cills, corbelled wallhead cornice, rusticated quoins; architraved windows, 4-pane timber sash and case frames, smaller panes to top, blind boxes to 1st floor, pediments to 2nd floor, lugged to 3rd floor; single and paired windows to side

elevation, multi-pane to ground floor with various alterations,

mostly 8-pane timber sash and case frames to upper floors.

FRONT ELEVATION: 2 large keystoned and segmental-headed windows to centre with 9-pane glazing, panelled public house door to left and close door to right each with fanlight (masked at public house) and keystoned segmental-headed doorcases, 4 windows to each upper floor.

ELEVATION TO MEADOW LANE: door and various window to ground floor, single, bipartite wind blinded windows to upper floors, wallhead stack and stack rising through eaves.

INTERIOR: not seen.
