Description
This public house, located at 4 and 6 North Court in Glasgow, dates from around 1835. It is a three-storey building with an attic and basement, featuring eight bays. The exterior is constructed of ashlar stone, with a painted late 19th-century shop front at the ground level and rubble on the sides. The entrance includes fanlit, two-leaf panelled doors, with the central door flanked by Corinthian pilasters. Above the ground floor, there is a dentil cornice, a cill course at the first floor, and cornices at both the second floor and the eaves. The first-floor windows are architraved and corniced, while the second-floor windows are simpler in design. The attic floor is mostly blank, with former windows now blocked. There are wallhead stacks above.
On the gable end facing North Court Lane, there are two widely spaced bays. The left bay has blocked windows with a small attic light above, while the right bay features windows on both the first and second floors. There is also a gable wallhead stack. The building retains plate-glass sash and case windows, along with decorative gutter fixtures.
