Description
82 Nethergate in Dundee is a four-storey and attic tenement building, dated 1850, featuring shops on the ground floor. The building is constructed of pinkish sandstone ashlar with rubble at the rear and has a slate roof.
Architectural details include a cill band at the second floor and an eaves course. The first floor has architraved and corniced windows with two-pane timber sash and case glazing. The second floor features architraved windows, while the third floor has windows with the original 12-pane timber sash and case glazing pattern. The dormers are timber-pedimented but have modern pivot glazing that is not in character with the building. There is an ashlar-coped skew and stack to the west and a rendered wallhead stack at the front.
On the front elevation, there is a close door at the center flanked by shopfronts, with the one on the right being early and the one on the left modernized. Each upper floor has four windows, along with a wallhead stack and two dormers. The rear elevation features a square projecting stair tower flanked by single windows and large modern slate-hung dormers.
The interior has not been seen.
