Description

12-16 Union Street in Dundee is an earlier 19th-century, four-storey and attic tenement building featuring three bays and shops on the ground floor. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar and has a slate roof. The ground floor retains near-original shopfronts with consoled fascias and a corniced blocking course. The first floor has architraved and corniced windows, while the second floor features architraved windows. The first floor includes a two-pane timber sash and case glazing pattern, with two original 12-pane windows on the second floor and four-pane windows on the third floor. The building has out-of-character dormers and ridge stacks.

The front elevation consists of a close door flanked by two shopfronts on the ground floor, with three windows on each upper floor, and features both box and canted dormers. The interior has not been seen.
