24 Exchange Street, Dundee

24 Exchange Street in Dundee is a mid-19th century, four-storey and attic warehouse with five bays. The front features sandstone coursers, while the rear is built of rubble, with ashlar dressings and a grey slate roof. Notable architectural details include a continuous stepped lintel course at the first floor, a band course at the third floor, and a coped parapet. The windows are margined, with 12-pane timber sash and case frames, although three bottom panes are blocked at the lower sashes of the first and second floors. There is a gabled hoist door that has been blocked and converted into a window, rising from the parapet, along with box dormers.

The front elevation has modern shopfronts at the ground floor, with five windows on the first, second, and third floors. The former hoist door is located at the center, flanked by four dormers.

The rear elevation consists of four bays, with a blank bay on the right. The ground floor has three windows with security bars, and a window on the left has been converted into a sliding door. There are two-leaf hoist doors on the first floor, flanked by two windows on the left and one on the right. The second floor features four windows, while the third floor has a hoist door flanked by two windows on the left and one on the right. A gabled hoist door, which is blocked, has an oculus rising from the wallhead, along with a seven-light rooflight. To the right, there is a later brick lift tower with an adjoining dormer.

Inside, the building contains cast-iron columns and beams, as well as a timber staircase with simple timber balusters and newel posts.
