Description
17 Commercial Street in Dundee is a mid-19th century, four-storey commercial building with a basement. It features a sandstone coursed exterior and a grey slate roof. The ground floor has a lintel band and eaves course, with single and bipartite margined windows that mostly have two-pane timber sash and case glazing. The building also has ashlar-coped skews, corniced ridge stacks, and eight tie-rod plates.
On the front elevation, there is a modern entrance doorway in the center, flanked by single and bipartite windows on either side, with basement windows below. The first to third floors have bipartite windows with single windows to the left and right.
The rear elevation shows various blocked openings at the basement and ground floor, with bricked-up goods openings in the center of the first to third floors, flanked by single windows and a gabled hoist dormer.
The interior has not been seen.
