Warehouse, 12 Milnbank Road, Dundee

This building is a warehouse located at 12 Milnbank Road in Dundee, constructed between 1857 and 1871. It is three stories tall with an attic and features a layout of eight bays by three bays. The exterior is made of coursed rubble with ashlar quoins.

On the north elevation, the lower storey is set into the slope of the ground, with the two eastern bays protruding slightly. It has large multi-paned metal-framed windows, and the large window on the east side was previously a horizontally hinged door. There is a stair door on the west side next to a modern loading door, and the building is topped with a cornice and parapet.

The south elevation includes a full-height loading door at the east end and a central gabletted wall-head hoist. The east elevation features two windows on each floor flanking doors that lead to a spiral cast-iron fire escape, which is indicated on a plan from 1891. The attic gable has a door, three oculi skewputts, and a flat-topped finial. The west elevation is made of brick and appears to be unfinished. The roof is slate with two original ventilators.

Inside, the structure has an iron frame and brick arches, with an unplastered ceiling on the second floor. There is a wrought-iron tie in the attic, along with some later steel ties.
