Description
The Harbour in Broughty Ferry, designed by engineers Thomas Bouch and Thomas Grainger between 1849 and 1851, is a tidal, former railway harbour. It features polished and bull-faced ashlar blocks, concrete-faced buttresses, and flagstone paving along the edges. There is a large mooring ring located on the eastern side. The harbour has a U-shaped plan, with an additional pier that extends from the castle battery and partly crosses the seaward opening.
