Public House, 31, 33 Castle Street, Dundee

This public house, located at 31 and 33 Castle Street in Dundee, is an earlier 20th-century commercial building that stands four stories tall and features three bays. The first and second floors are constructed from stugged snecked sandstone rubble, while the third floor is made of stugged ashlar with ashlar dressings. The building has margined angles and a wallhead course, with a frieze below the second-floor windows that includes a moulded cornice flanked by bands decorated with Vitruvian scrolls at the top. It is topped with a corniced and stepped parapet.

The front elevation includes shopfronts on the ground floor, which have been partly altered. There are three large, margined round-headed windows with replacement multi-pane metal frames on the first and second floors, and three margined square windows with replacement frames on the third floor. The interior has not been seen.
