Cox's Lodge, Ann Street, Gatehouse Of Fleet

Cox's Lodge is a picturesque cottage from the earlier 19th century, located at the gates to Cally House in Gatehouse of Fleet. The building is two stories high with a three-bay frontage, constructed of painted rubble. It features a central gabled single-storey porch with a well-preserved original door that has three trefoil-headed panels. The windows are all bipartite, with mullions and transoms, and are fitted with lattice panel glazing. The cottage has deeply overhanging timber bracketed eaves and axial stacks, topped with a slate tile roof. At the rear, there is a single-storey wing with a piend roof, also made of painted rubble.

The property includes gatepiers and walls, consisting of a pair of squared granite gatepiers topped with ball finials. A long rubble wall extends from the gate to the Cally Estate Office.
