Description
The lodge and gate piers at Auchencairn House date from the late 19th century. The building is a granite castellated lodge that stands three stories tall, featuring a square tower with a round turret at the southeast angle. It is constructed from rock-faced granite, accented with sandstone quoins and margins. The windows are all single light with four-pane sashes.
The lodge has a corbelled-out parapet with a wall-walk along the longer sides. It is topped with a steeply pitched saddle-back slate roof, which has crowstepped gables and a tall wallhead stack on the west gable. The turret is capped with a conical roof made of fish-scale slate.
The squat square gate piers are topped with pyramidal ridged coping and ball finials.
