Description
Balcary Lifeboat Station, dated 1883, is a rectangular lifeboat house that is now disused. It is a single storey building with an attic, constructed from squared pinned rubble with granite quoins, margins, and banding detail on the sides and gable ends. The seaward gable features wide double doors, and a concrete slipway is still present. Above the doors, there is a loft door flanked by a pair of decorative cast-iron roundels that display maritime symbols, with the one on the right dated 1883. The sides of the building have three regularly spaced windows, and the roofs are pitched and covered with slate.
