Auchencairn Parish Church, Church Road, Auchencairn

Auchencairn Parish Church, built around 1858, is a small Neo-Gothic church featuring a steeply pitched gabled roof. The walls are made of squared coursed bull-faced rubble with polished window margins and dressings. The church has a rectangular shape with a chancel and buttresses at the corners and along the nave. It includes a 3-bay nave with a gabled porch on the northeast side, which has a pointed-arch doorway. The nave windows are single lancets with hood-moulds, while the north and south gables display geometric traceried windows. A bellcote is located on the north gable, and the sandstone skews are topped with cross-finials at the apexes of the gables. The roofs are steeply pitched and covered with slate, and the porch features diamond tiles.
