25 Main Street, Auchencairn, Castle Douglas

25 Main Street in Auchencairn, Castle Douglas, is a late 19th-century building that features two stories and an attic, with an asymmetrical gabled design. The exterior is made of polychrome brick, showcasing bands and lozenge detailing, along with painted 'hoodmoulds' above the windows. The building has a long frontage facing Main Street, with large plate glass windows at the ground level.

To the right, there is a prominent advanced gabled bay that includes three windows on the first floor and two in the attic. On the left side, the building has a six-bay front with a timber canted oriel window. There are also two bipartite gabled dormers that cut through the roof on the left.

The eastern gable features a tall projecting stack that rises from the ground to the left of the gable apex, with a group of three windows to the right. The building is topped with coped banded axial and end stacks and has steeply pitched slate roofs.
