Description
Auchencairn, located at 29 Main Street, is a late 18th century building that features a two-storey structure over a basement. The elevation facing Main Street has two bays, with the entrance door positioned to the right, while the elevation to Wellwood Terrace has three bays. The building at 2 Wellwood Terrace also has a three-bay elevation, which includes a forestair leading to a central doorway. This doorway has a modern glazed door accompanied by a narrow fanlight. The windows throughout the building are single light sash and case, with various types of glazing; most of the windows on 29 Main Street are modern, while the others are either plate glass or consist of 12 panes. The roofs are slate, featuring coped end and axial stacks.
