Description
The Old Lifeboat House, located on St Comb's Road in Portsoy, is a late 19th century, two-storey rectangular building designed to house lifeboats. It is built against a slope, with the boat accommodation situated on the upper floor. The exterior is harled, featuring tooled ashlar long and short dressings on the principal elevation, while the sides have brick dressings.
The southeast gable has a segmental-headed entrance leading into the boat house, accompanied by a single brick-margined window with an ashlar lintel on each of the long elevations. On the northeast elevation, there is a store below with three doorways, each featuring ashlar lintels and brick jambs. The building has a red brick end stack with yellow brick quoins and is topped with a slate roof.
