Description

The gate piers at Hoddom Castle were likely designed by H M Wardrop of Wardrop and Anderson around 1886. They feature a symmetrical layout of Renaissance-style piers located to the south of the castle. The piers are made of ashlar stone and are square in shape, adorned with diamond panels, rosettes, and a cornice. Some of the piers have ball finials, while others are topped with gabled heads.
