Description
Park House, located within the Hoddom Castle Policies, is a large villa dated 1878, as indicated on the rainwater head. The building features a picturesque asymmetrical design with gabled roofs. It is constructed from stugged and squared pink rubble, complemented by ashlar dressings.
The villa is single storey with an attic and has a three-bay northern elevation that includes two two-storey gabled bays. The inner bay has a door with a stone-bracketed and gabled hood, while the bay to the left is recessed and features a dormer. To the right, there is a canted ground floor window.
The southern range is a long gabled structure arranged in a double-pile layout, with a twin-gabled eastern elevation and four gabled dormers on the south side. Most windows are single sashes with either plate glass or a four-pane glazing pattern, and the two-storey bays have a cill band at the eaves level. The building has end and axial stacks, one of which has a projecting breast, with grouped flues that are individually expressed and linked by cornices. The roofs are slated, all featuring bracketed eaves.
