Description
The Bridgend Visitor Centre at Hoddom Castle is an earlier 19th-century picturesque single-storey lodge featuring castellated gothic detailing and heavy mouldings. It is built against a slope to the south, with a retaining wall extending to the east. The front wall of the lodge curves from the east to the north, and it has a parapet that extends over a full-height open porch located at the northwest corner. The building is constructed of polished ashlar and includes tripartite windows with latticed glazing. The porch features pointed openings on its elevations, with a cast-iron gate facing east and bartizans. The piended slate roof rises within the parapet and is topped with a single unusually tall diamond flue. There is a modern overthrow leading to the driveway.
