Description
Mainholm is an early 19th century house with associated steading blocks. It is a symmetrical two-storey house with low flanking wings arranged as steading blocks. The house is constructed of whitewashed rubble with contrasting painted ashlar margins. The roofs are covered with graded slates. The main house has three bays and features a gabled central porch. There are two first-floor windows. All windows, including those within the steading wings, are sash windows with a 4-pane glazing pattern. Chimneys are located at the ends of the house. The steading ranges are arranged asymmetrically around a courtyard, with parts adjoining the house having a domestic appearance.
