Description
Stewarton is a farmhouse dating from around 1800, featuring two storeys and three bays, with a lower two-storey, two-bay wing to the east. The main structure is built of painted rubble. The south elevation of the three-bay section has a rendered, piend-roofed single-storey porch at the center, with painted long and short quoins. The ground floor windows have been enlarged around 1960 to bipartite casements, while the first-floor windows are all sash and case with 12-pane glazing.
On the northeast elevation, there is a central door, and the first floor has single light sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing. The building features end skews, corniced end stacks, and good graded slate roofs. The eastern wing has a door to the right, an enlarged window to the left, and two single windows on the first floor. On the north side, there is a window to the right that was formerly a door. The glazing in this part is predominantly multi-pane sash and case. The roofs are piended slate, and there is a tall wallhead stack above the nepus gable to the west. Additionally, there is a single-storey, piend-roofed painted rubble wing to the west.
