Description

Stoneypath is a farmhouse dating from around 1800, featuring two storeys and three bays. It was extended around 1830 with the addition of a low, irregular single-storey extension with a piend roof. The building is constructed from red rubble sandstone, harled, with ashlar dressings.

The west elevation is symmetrical and includes an ashlar rectangular porch added around 1830 at the center, which has a cornice and blocking course. The doorway features a two-pane fanlight to the east, with windows on both the south and west sides. The bays are widely spaced, with windows on each floor and an additional window located by the re-entrant angle with the porch on the right.

The east elevation shows a single-storey rambling addition from around 1830 at the center and to the left, with a window at the center. There is a tall axial stack on the single-storey addition, along with a flat-roofed timber dormer and skylights on the main roof.

On the south elevation, there is a ground floor window to the right and a small square attic light. The north elevation features a ground floor window to the right and additional windows on both sides at the first floor, with a larger attic window at the center compared to the south gable. The sash and case windows have 12-pane skewputts, and the building includes scrolled skewputts with rosettes, as well as margined and corniced end stacks. The roof is covered with slate.

The property also includes gatepiers, quadrant walls, and retaining walls made of rubble, with pyramid-coped ashlar and corniced gatepiers. There are cast-iron gates present as well.
