Description

The Museum and Custodians House on Bruce Street in Whithorn is a pair of late 18th century houses that now serve as the museum and custodians' residence for Whithorn Priory. Each house features three bays and is two stories high, with ground floor windows that are smaller than those on the first floor. There are blocked windows above the centrally placed doors. The walls are made of rubble with raised rendered margins, and the doors are recessed and panelled. Above the door to the museum, there is an inscribed reused panel dated 1730. All the windows are sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The buildings have tall end and axial coped stacks and are topped with good graded slate roofs. The boundary is marked by tall rubble stone walls.
