Description
Priory House is a house dated 1833, located on the site of a former priory. It incorporates some masonry and 16th-century mullion windows. The building is constructed from rubble stone with roughly quoined corners, and features a rendered entrance bay and window surrounds with keyblocks. It has a slate roof with decorative bargeboards on moulded ironstone kneelers and yellow brick chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high with an attic and consists of four bays. The main storeys have barred sash windows with hood-moulds, while the outer bays on the ground floor feature arched top bars. The outer bays are gabled and project, showcasing 16th-century two-light ironstone mullioned windows with hood-moulds in the attic. The central bays include two-light leaded dormers and a ground floor projection with chamfered quoins, a cornice, and a parapet. The central doorway is topped with a hood-mould and is flanked by plain architrave sash windows.
