Description

The Church of St James is a parish church that dates back to the 13th century, featuring a nave with a 14th century and 16th century doorway and windows. The chancel and transepts were added in the 19th century, and the rest of the church was restored during the same period. The nave includes a 19th century double bellcote at the west end, and has two-light perpendicular windows with hood-moulds. The south door features a re-set early English arch and there is an 18th century porch. The chancel and transepts have decorated style tracery windows with early 20th century glass. Inside, there is a west gallery and five brass candelabras.
