Description

The Hermitage is an 18th-century house located in Chetwood. It is constructed of rubble stone with timber lintels over the openings, and has a tiled roof with brick end stacks. The house is two storeys and an attic, with three bays. The windows are mostly 3-light leaded casements, with a 2-light window to the centre of the first floor and a 3-light plain casement in a square, jettied bay below. Two dormers feature paired metal casements. The front door is within a stone, gabled, tiled porch between the left-hand bays, and is flanked by a stone carved head over the lintel. A right-hand bay projects to the rear.
